Apple has unveiled its latest iOS 17.2 and iPadOS 17.2 beta software development kits (SDKs) for developers. These developer beta versions introduce a host of new features, accompanied by various improvements.

As is customary, developer beta versions typically come with a mix of known and unknown issues. However, they also bring a slew of new features and some enhancements, as previously mentioned. The iOS 17.2 and iPadOS 17.2 beta SDKs, bundled with Xcode 15.1, offer developers the tools to create apps for these beta versions.
Among the notable new features, the iMessage Contact Key Verification enhances user privacy by enabling messaging only with approved contacts. Additionally, the Journal app has been introduced, and Journaling Suggestions now offer a visual picker interface for iPhone apps. In the realm of transactions, new pricing properties such as “price,” “currency,” and “currencyCode” are now available, along with a testing feature for sending purchase intents to apps. SwiftUI has also received a new feature.
Several issues have been resolved, including a fix for a problem that prevented Android apps from connecting to iPhones’ personal hotspots. Moreover, the Swift access conflict crash that could occur when using toolbar items has been addressed.
Apple had previously made iOS 17.1 and iPadOS 17.1 updates available to the general public, with the update rolling out on the 25th of October last month. Following this, on the 26th of October 2023, the iOS 17.2 and iPadOS 17.2 beta versions were released for developers.
