Just a mere two months after the release of its fifth-generation clamshell-style foldable phone, the Galaxy Z Flip 5, Samsung appears to be gearing up to introduce additional color options for the device. Rumor has it that the South Korean tech giant is working on unveiling the Galaxy Z Flip 5 Retro Edition.
The Galaxy Z Flip 5 Retro Edition is expected to bring a touch of nostalgia, as reports suggest. MSPowerUser recently shared a set of images showcasing this forthcoming foldable phone, revealing a new color scheme and a slightly modified finish. According to the report, the phone will sport a pastel blue color on the back and a silver hue on the sides. The rear panel will feature a matte finish, while its side rails will be crafted from aluminum.
The remainder of the phone’s design seems to closely resemble the standard Galaxy Z Flip 5. It is likely to include a sizable 3.4-inch OLED cover screen and a side-mounted fingerprint sensor. Furthermore, a dual-camera setup and a USB Type-C port at the bottom can be observed. As for the internal specifications, they are expected to remain consistent with those of the Galaxy Z Flip 5, featuring the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 For Galaxy processor, 8GB of RAM, 256GB of storage, and a 3,700mAh battery.
Details regarding whether this particular version of the Galaxy Z Flip 5 will have a limited market release or will see a broader, global launch remain uncertain. It’s worth noting that certain color variants of Samsung’s foldable phones have been exclusive to specific markets in the past. Additionally, Samsung may introduce the device alongside new accessories, such as cases and covers.
