This exciting development has emerged through a partnership between Insomniac Games, Sony, and General Mills. Just days away from its much-anticipated launch, this announcement follows the revelation that the game has garnered exceptional ratings, establishing itself as one of Insomniac Games’ top titles.

This collaboration marks the third brand that Insomniac Games and Sony have joined forces with to promote Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. The first collaboration was unveiled earlier this month when the Marvel Twitter account introduced a new collection, featuring a sneaker inspired by the Peter Parker Advanced Suit that succumbs to Venom’s influence. The collection also includes a range of other footwear and apparel such as football cleats, compression tights, and sweatshirts. Last week, during the New York City Comic Con, the Marvel Twitter account disclosed a partnership with the renowned eyewear company Warby Parker, announcing a limited line of eyeglasses and sunglasses frames inspired by the game’s characters, including Peter Parker, Miles Morales, Mary Jane Watson, and Venom.

As the highly-anticipated Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 launch approaches, Insomniac Games has revealed on Twitter a new partnership with General Mills to release a limited-edition run of Wheaties cereal boxes. These boxes prominently feature the game’s protagonists, Peter Parker and Miles Morales, donning their iconic game suits. Remarkably, these two web-slinging superheroes are the first video game characters to grace the Wheaties cereal box cover. Fans will have the exclusive opportunity to purchase this cereal on the Wheaties website starting on October 19, a day before the game’s official release.

On Twitter, some fans have expressed concerns about the cereal’s availability being limited to a single online storefront. This apprehension is fueled by past instances where scalpers acquired limited products and resold them at significantly higher prices, reminiscent of what recently transpired with the Van Gogh Pokemon cards. However, the majority of fan reactions to this announcement have been overwhelmingly positive, with some enthusiasts eager to try the cereal for the first time. One astute fan even humorously pointed out that Peter Parker would be thrilled by the announcement, harkening back to a comic panel where Aunt May prepared his favorite breakfast—wheat cakes.

While Spider-Man has always been a beloved superhero, the character’s popularity has surged in recent years, largely due to Tom Holland’s portrayal of the character and the universally acclaimed Spider-Verse films. Despite this, Insomniac Games and Sony are leaving no stone unturned in their efforts to promote Spider-Man 2, from daily promotional videos featuring the voice actors to teasing fans with glimpses of the various suits that will be available in the game. With early reviews lauding the game as one of the best Spider-Man titles ever, it’s no wonder that fans can hardly contain their excitement for the upcoming Friday release.
